Rogue Writers is the writers, authors, and publishing movement on Holy Rogue Network — built around a deliberate three-domain architecture called the .ink Trilogy that maps the entire writer's journey from blank page to published book to perpetual marketing engine. The three .ink domains are not three separate products; they are one continuous funnel that mirrors the Old World guild system (Apprentice → Journeyman → Master) but for writers instead of bakers. Stage 1 (Hatch) lives at ubater.ink — the incubator where raw beginners learn the craft. Stage 2 (Sharpen) lives at greatminds.ink — the social coaching hub where writers sharpen against other writers. Stage 3 (Own) lives at sovereign.ink — the earned publishing home, the network's multi-tenant blogging engine, and the graduation prize. The full pipeline runs from ubater.ink (where a person who has never written before tells Davee their story and gets coached through their first rough draft), through greatminds.ink (where a writer with a draft enters peer review, manuscript challenges, and structured paths from Dream 100 author-teachers), to sovereign.ink (where a writer who has put in 10,000+ XP of the work earns an auto-provisioned sovereign blog of their own — graduation is not a metaphor, it is a database trigger). From there the pipeline continues off-network: the polished manuscript routes to Plain & Precious Publishing for editorial-and-publication; once published the book lands back inside the network as a readable, listenable, Davee-conversational artifact via the LivingBook plugin; and the Holy Rogue Network's broader marketing infrastructure (Sovereign.ink as perpetual SEO engine, the cross-publish pipeline, the affiliate-attribution layer) keeps selling the book forever. UBATER.INK — "I Want to Write" — is the egg. The audience is the people who have a story worth telling but were never trained to write — most people. The flagship interaction is a story dump with Davee, who extracts the story, organizes the rough thoughts, recommends specific Dream 100 author-teacher resources matched to the writer's Easy Score (foundational content for beginners, marketing-focused content for advanced), and coaches the writer through the structure. The brand feel is welcoming, low-stakes, encouraging — pencil-on-napkin energy. You don't have to be a writer yet; you just have to have a story. XP is earned for posting drafts, completing exercises, and getting peer-reviewed. GREATMINDS.INK — "I Have a Community" — is the social coaching hub. The audience is writers past pure beginner: they have a draft, they have momentum, they need community + peer review + accountability + curated learning paths from real authors who have actually done it. The recruiting strategy targets three distinct author archetypes, all of whom belong here: (1) authors who sell millions because they are so good at writing (the craft masters), (2) authors who know how to write but who never built an audience (the technicians), and (3) authors who write books no one wants but who are exceptional marketers (the marketers — they sold a lot anyway). All three have something irreplaceable to teach. Writers' profiles function as Publishing Houses or Imprints (the writer-equivalent of bakeries in Rogue Bakers); 30-day manuscript challenges drive structured production; XP/IP gamification rewards words written, books published, reviews received. The aesthetic mirrors Plain & Precious Publishing's existing visual identity so the handoff to that ecosystem feels like home — leather journal, fountain pen, warm lamp light, classical serif headings, ink-and-paper textures. Not the network's terminal-green-on-black hub aesthetic. SOVEREIGN.INK — "I Have a Platform" — is the earned publishing home. It is already the canonical multi-tenant blogging engine for the entire Holy Rogue Network — every Movement on the Movement Machine eventually pipes its blog content through sovereign.ink, with a cross-publish admin approval queue that preserves author attribution through a blog_authors indirection table so creator claims work cleanly later. What makes it sovereign: self-hosted on CrownOS (Devuan Linux + Podman), not on Medium / not on WordPress.com / not on Substack, no cloud kill-switches, the author owns their imprint and their data and their SEO authority. The brand feel is earned, adult, permanent — the author has arrived; this is THEIR platform now. Sovereign.ink also anchors a deliberate new publishing category called Open Thought Publishing: unlike open source which shares the code, Open Thought shares the actual thought process behind the work — narrative chapters paired with raw chat transcripts side by side. The Founder's own ThoughtCoder book (60-day sprint, 200,000+ lines of production code from December 2025 to January 2026, all built via Claude conversations from ideas in his head) is the inaugural Open Thought publication. The Plain & Precious Publishing thread is the family-relationship core that makes this whole architecture credible. David Butler — Editor in Chief at Plain & Precious — is Founder Kimball Roundy's cousin. Stick of Joseph (the brothers Jackson and Hayden Paul) own Plain & Precious and are the visible-leadership face of this movement; Founder Kimball is explicit that he himself is not an author and knows nothing about publishing or authorship, and wants the actual experts visibly leading. Jonah Barnes (an author published through Plain & Precious with an 849K-follower audience) runs the Gathering Israel charity ($0.50-per-soul ad model in Africa, the Philippines, and elsewhere). The Wavemakers Cruise is the existing relational network where David Butler and the Stick of Joseph brothers are already connected with Dream 100 creators. The .ink TLD itself is a love letter to this audience — authors write in INK, publishers print in INK; the architecture was specifically designed to feel like home to faithful authors, scriptural scholars, and Gathering-of-Israel-oriented creators. The Davee AI persona wears two distinct hats inside the .ink Trilogy. Hat 1 (inside ubater.ink and greatminds.ink): the writing coach. Davee has general knowledge of best practices in book writing, authorship, structure, pacing, character development, and marketing. The author talks to Davee, dumps the story, dumps the documents, dumps the rough thoughts; Davee coaches the author through the process — and Davee does NOT write for the author. This is a hard line. Davee recommends specific Dream 100 author resources by name, routes by Easy Score skill level, and hands off the coached manuscript to David Butler at Plain & Precious for editorial polish. Hat 2 (inside sovereign.ink and the LivingBook plugin in the Holy Rogue Desktop App): the book conversation partner. After a book publishes, it lives in sovereign.ink as a readable + listenable + conversational artifact — an AI-narrated audiobook in any voice, with the reader able to pause mid-listen and ask Davee a question about the book. Davee responds based on training on that specific book. The conversation is saved as a LivingFootnote tied to the exact passage location, and shareable across the network — turning every book into an ongoing discovery and engagement loop. Founder Kimball Roundy is Person #1 through this funnel. Two flagship books prove the model. "41 Degrees" — the November 8, 2006 Strawberry Reservoir near-drowning, the boating accident that killed his brother and sister-in-law, the 2.5-plus hours in 41-degree water, the I Survived TV episode, the Aqua Regis covenant — has been waiting nineteen years to be assembled; the source material (2008 webinar recording, talk transcripts, MP3s, Facebook video, Bio Channel S10E4 episode, emails, outlines, and the original "Thoughts for 41 Degrees Book" doc) already exists in the folder. The founder's framing: "Strawberry Reservoir was Stroke 1. Everything since has been the remaining strokes. The book isn't unfinished. I've been writing it with my life." "ThoughtCoder" — the memoir + manifesto about the practice of building digital infrastructure through AI conversation — is being assembled AI-generated from the actual conversation transcripts that produced 200,000+ lines of code in a 60-day sprint, and will publish in Open Thought format on sovereign.ink. The business flywheel is straightforward. Community engages on the .ink properties → purchases from Dream 100 author Storefronts (including Plain & Precious books) → commissions flow to GatheringIsrael.org → $0.50/referral evangelism ads run in Africa, the Philippines, and elsewhere → souls reached and baptisms documented → testimonial stories feed back into the network → more engagement. The .ink Trilogy is the content/creator engine that powers this Kingdom-building flywheel; it is not framed as a Medium killer or a Substack alternative; it is framed as a sovereign home for a specific faithful-creator audience that the dominant publishing platforms were never built to serve. That focus is a feature, not a limitation. Marketplace, Tier Ladder, Easy Score, and Family Kit. The marketplace runs the standard Holy Rogue Network template plus the .ink Trilogy publishing overlay: Storefronts (working authors with book sales, Dream 100 author-teacher courses, manuscript-coaching services, Davee book-conversation premium tiers, audiobook narration commissions, ghostwriting trade where appropriate, copywriting services), Classifieds (manuscript-swap arrangements, beta-reader exchanges, used reference books, "I'll edit your draft in trade for X" arrangements), Hot Ovens (live events — manuscript-challenge cohorts, sovereign.ink author launches, Open Thought publication parties, Wavemakers Cruise meetups, Plain & Precious author panels), Clubs (per-imprint communities, genre-specific writers' circles, faithful-creator cohorts, Open Thought authors' guild). Tier ladder follows the guild progression: Apprentice Writer (entry, 0 XP, ubater.ink), Journeyman (1,000 XP, ready for greatminds.ink), Artisan (5,000 XP, manuscript in progress, peer-recognized), Published Author (10,000 XP, sovereign.ink site auto-provisioned, manuscript ready for Plain & Precious editorial), and Guild Master (25,000 XP, multi-book authority, mentor to other writers, named Faculty). Youth tier: Stripling Writer (David-stripling lineage shared with the network's other youth tiers, earned via family-team writing milestones, first published-on-ubater story, or first manuscript challenge completed). Family kit: Mighty Writer Kit (mom-purchased family upgrade for little ones — a small kid-safe journal, a kid's first fountain pen, beginner story-prompt deck, a Mighty Writer apron all just like the family author's; mirrors the broader network family-kit pattern). The Easy Score block: Davee scaffolds the early Easy levels with curated content and per-writer story-extraction coaching; Stick of Joseph (Jackson and Hayden Paul) and David Butler hold the Founding Writer Faculty seats; Dream 100 author-teachers fill the Master Writer seats per genre and craft specialty.
