The name is deliberate. Adventure comes from the Latin advenire — "to come toward" — the same root as Advent. We are unabashedly a community of believers looking forward to the literal Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the ultimate Advent — and we live every adventure as a small rehearsal of the biggest one. We watch. We prepare. We go. And because scripture promises that "where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20) — and commands us to "gather together, and stand in holy places" (D&C 101:22) — every gathering of Rogue Adventurers willing to talk of Christ, preach of Christ, and tell the world He is really coming back becomes a HolyPlace in fact, pinned as one on the HolyPlaces map of the Holy Rogue Network. Wherever we set our boots, He has promised to be there. We're just here to make sure His people show up too. Rogue Adventurers is the meeting place on Holy Rogue Network for the people who'd rather school in the Grand Tetons than the dining room — RV-life and world-schooling families on the road, weekend overlanders, backcountry hikers, adventure travelers, rock climbers, packrafters, and the homeschool families who want next month's field trip to be more than a stop at the local museum. The premise is that "going places, doing things, with cool people" is education at its highest form — but you don't get the cool-people part by showing up alone. Rogue Adventurers is the social network where the RV families already on the road, the homeschool co-ops planning the next field trip, and the adventure creators who teach the craft all converge. So when you show up at a Grand Tetons climbing meet-up, the world-class instructor has already been vouched for, the families you're meeting are already in your network, and the kids already know each other from the last meet-up at Moab or Yellowstone. Two tools belong in every Rogue Adventurer's gear list. CRockyGo painted rocks travel with you and get left at trailheads, scenic overlooks, gas-station benches, and campground picnic tables — anywhere a stranger might find one. They carry your family's note, a scripture, a word of encouragement; the finder scans, follows the rock's journey home, and — if the Spirit moves them — joins the community of believers releasing Artful Joy into the world. Decorated Currency Kids bills — your hand-decorated Bennys, Abes, Tommys, Andys, Grants — get spent along the road at Holy Rogue Network vendor storefronts: a Bread Angel bakery here, a Rogue Tanners cuff there, a Proof Breads loaf in Mesa. Every decorated bill is a small gospel tract that travels with the dollar; every Crocky is a stone of remembrance left where the Spirit prompted. The road becomes the network, and the network becomes the road. The marketplace runs on the same Rogue Schoolers franchise template. If you've got something to teach — rock climbing, packrafting, bushcraft, overlanding, RV repair, route-finding, wilderness first aid — you teach it digitally in the classroom, then live in the wild during a meet-up. If you've got a destination — a homestead bakery like Proof Breads in Mesa, a wheat field with a mill, a rock-hounding canyon — you list it as a Field Trip and the network shows up. Climb the Halo Rating ladder by being the guide families come back to year after year. Eventually graduate to certified Adventure Angel and host signature trips of your own. Sister movement Rogue Schoolers handles core academics + local field trips; Rogue Adventurers is where those field trips go big — and where every trip is a small Advent in its own right.
